Top tips
A few tips as always:
1. Make sure you toss the chocolate chips with flour before adding to the batter so the chocolate is perfectly suspended throughout the bread.
2. Split the recipe into two loaves as the recipe is written. It bakes faster and you get double the bread! I always either freeze the other or gift one to a friend.
3. Be sure to not over mix the batter! If you want a moist and tender banana bread, that is the most important tip!
4. Grease the loaf pans AND add a piece of parchment paper to ensure easy removal from loaf pan once baked.
5. Lastly, put extra chocolate chips on the top of the bread before baking so that you have a real show shopper when it comes out of the oven!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
If you wish to bake a whole chocolate loaf cake you can bake one whole chocolate loaf cake in 60-65 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Be sure to cover the top of your loaf cake with aluminum foil to prevent the top from over browning. You can also split the batter in between two loaf pans and bake for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Simply, a loaf cake is any cake that is baked in a loaf pan instead of regular cake tins. The loaf pan will give the loaf cake its characteristic "loaf cake" shape.
To bake a moist loaf cake, it is important to not over mix the batter. Mix the batter until the ingredients are just incorporated and then bake. This chocolate loaf cake recipe also includes bananas which helps to keep the cake naturally more moist and flavorful.
