Potato chips are one of those snacks we all tend to reach for—whether it’s to munch on during a movie, add to a lunch plate, or share at a party. Most of the time, we grab a bag from the store without thinking twice. But lately, I’ve been curious about making them from scratch. It always seemed like one of those things that would be tricky or time-consuming, but I finally gave it a try—and I’m so glad I did.
These homemade potato chips are thin, crispy, and way more flavorful than anything out of a bag. Seasoned with a simple mix of garlic, Parmesan, and parsley, they’re easy to make. If you’ve ever wanted to try making your own chips at home, this is such a fun recipe you’re going to love.

How to Make Potato Chips Recipe
Wash and peel the potatoes, then slice them into very thin rounds with a sharp knife.

As you slice the potatoes, heat the oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 400°F.
Once all the potatoes are sliced, pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Carefully add the potato slices to the hot oil, frying in batches if needed. Stir gently every couple of minutes to ensure even cooking.

While the chips are frying, mix garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and dried parsley in a bowl to make the seasoning.

When the chips are golden and crisp, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Let the chips rest for at least 5 minutes, then toss them in the seasoning mixture while still slightly warm.

Allow the chips to cool completely before serving or storing for later.
