Nutter Butter Football Cookie Ingredients
- Nutter Butter cookies
- Chocolate chips
- Coconut oil (optional)
- White chocolate chips
- For exact measurements, please see the recipe card below.
Supplies Needed
- Microwave safe bowls - Any microwave safe bowls will do, however, I have always preferred Pyrex glass bowls as they are easiest to clean the chocolate out of.
- Coconut Oil - This helps thin out the chocolate and makes it easier to use.
- Chocolate dipping Fork - A chocolate dipping fork makes it much easier to dip items in chocolate than a regular fork.
- Parchment Paper - Parchment paper keeps the chocolate from sticking to the pan and is easier to remove the chocolate covered item.
- Cookie sheet - A cookie sheet makes it easier to transport the chocolate-covered football nutter butter cookies to and from the refrigerator.
- Piping bags - Piping bags make pipe the football laces on the cookies easy.
- Double Boiler - This will make melting chocolate a lot easier. However, it's not something you absolutely need.
How to Make Football Nutter Butter Cookies
Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is melted. Add coconut oil to the bowl if the chocolate is too thick.
Dip each Nutter Butter cookie in the melted chocolate and carefully remove it from the chocolate with a fork. Lightly tap the handle of the fork on the side of the bowl to help knock off excess chocolate from the cookie.
Transfer the coated cookie to a parchment paper-lined plate and allow to set. The cookies can be placed in the refrigerator to speed up the setting process.
When the chocolate has hardened, place the white chocolate chips in a piping bag and heat in the microwave in 15-second intervals. Knead the bag with your fingers between each interval and continue heating until the chocolate is melted.
Cut the tip off the piping bag and pipe laces on the top of each cookie. The cookies are ready to be served when the white chocolate has hardened.
