Combine the shrimp, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and sugar into a food processor.

Preheat canola oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Then take a spoon-sized amount of filling into the middle of a wonton wrapper, trace the edges with water, and then fold the wrapper in half into the shape of a triangle and seal.

Then set aside.

Fry the wontons in small batches of 4-5 wontons until golden brown on both sides. About 2 minutes per side.

Drain wontons on a wire rack. Cool and enjoy!

Combine soy sauce, garlic, ginger, agave, and siracha into a bowl and mix well.
Can I make these shrimp wontons in an air fryer?
Yes! To make these shrimp wontons in the air fryer you would still follow the above step-by-step instructions but instead of heating your oil of choice, you would preheat your air fryer. Set your air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit and set the time to 12 minutes. Spray your air fryer basket with oil spray, place the wontons in the air fryer, spray the wontons with oil spray on all sides, and then close the air fryer basket. Flip them half way through. Then remove when they are golden brown. Allow time to cool, then enjoy!
Here is the air fryer that I use for this recipe.

Storage
You can store your wontons in an air tight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can also freeze your wontons in the freezer for up to 2 months! I recommend wrapping your wontons in parchment paper and aluminum foil individually and place in a freezer safe plastic bag.

Reheating Instructions
When reheating your wontons after storing in the fridge, or the freezer, I recommend reheating in the air fryer, or oven, to help them crisp back up in the warming process.
Top tips
Here are some top tips as always:
- When frying, use at least 2 inches of oil in the pan. You can also deep fry these wontons.
- When placing your wontons in the fryer, always place them in the oil facing away from you. This will prevent oil splashing onto you in the cooking process.
- If pan/deep frying your wontons, be sure to use an oil with a high smoke point like canola oil to prevent your wontons from burning.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Pair your fried wontons with a variety of sides! You can pair your fried wontons with a variety of dipping sauces for a fun appetizer. You can also pair your wontons with an Asian salad, rice, ramen noodles, or seaweed salad for a perfect weeknight meal!
To seal your wonton wrappers after adding your favorite filling, seal with either water, or egg wash. You can use either when sealing for either steamed, or fried, wontons. Traditionally, wontons are sealed with egg wash.
