Imagine getting grocery delivery, warehouse-club shopping, fuel discounts, and streaming entertainment for less than two separate memberships. That is the deal Walmart wants shoppers to consider.
On October 20, 2026, Walmart introduced a new membership bundle combining Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus for $120 a year. The company says customers can save about $98 a year compared with buying both memberships separately. The announcement arrives just as households prepare for holiday spending, giving shoppers another reason to reconsider which subscriptions deserve a place in their budgets. Walmart’s official announcement says the offer combines the convenience of everyday shopping with warehouse-club savings.
Two Memberships for One Annual Fee
The appeal is simple: shoppers can access two different retail businesses without paying the full price of both memberships.
Walmart+ normally costs $98 annually, while Sam’s Club Plus costs $120. Purchased separately, the two add up to $218, making the new $120 package a potential $98 saving for customers who would otherwise pay both fees.
The bundle includes free delivery on eligible Walmart and Sam’s Club orders, access to Sam’s Club member pricing, 10 cents per gallon in fuel discounts at participating stations, and 2% Sam’s Cash on qualifying purchases. Members can also choose one ad-supported streaming subscription, either Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential.
There are conditions, however. The membership costs $120 upfront for the year, with no monthly payment option or free trial. Delivery minimums, reward limits, availability, and other restrictions also apply.
Existing Members May Have an Easier Route

The deal could be especially attractive to shoppers who already pay for one of the memberships.
Walmart has outlined several ways existing customers can access the combined benefits. Annual Walmart+ members can switch to the bundle for an additional $22 per year. Customers with a standard Sam’s Club membership can upgrade to Plus for an additional $60 annually and receive Walmart+.
Existing Sam’s Club Plus members can activate Walmart+ at no additional membership cost. Customers already paying for both services can link their accounts, with most eligible members qualifying for a prorated Walmart+ refund.
One detail to remember: customers must link their Walmart and Sam’s Club accounts to activate the combined benefits. Some perks, including streaming, remain tied to the primary member and don’t automatically transfer to every household member.

Why Amazon Should Pay Attention
Walmart is making a stronger play for customers who want shopping convenience without paying for several separate services.
Amazon Prime costs $139 annually and combines eligible delivery benefits with entertainment and other shopping perks. Walmart’s new package costs $19 less and adds something Amazon Prime doesn’t directly include: a Sam’s Club Plus warehouse-club membership.
That difference could appeal to families who regularly buy bulk groceries, cleaning supplies, snacks, and household essentials. Walmart+ can cover smaller everyday purchases, while Sam’s Club lets members stock up on larger quantities.
Reuters reported that Walmart introduced the bundle ahead of the holiday season as retailers compete for shoppers increasingly conscious of value. The company’s strategy isn’t simply to undercut Amazon on membership price. It aims to encourage customers to use more of Walmart’s retail services.
The Savings Depend on How You Shop
A bargain only works if you use what you pay for.
For households already shopping regularly at both Walmart and Sam’s Club, saving nearly $100 a year could be straightforward. Fuel discounts and streaming benefits may add further value, particularly for people who already buy gasoline at participating stations or pay separately for an eligible streaming service.
But someone who rarely visits a Sam’s Club warehouse might not benefit enough to justify paying the additional fee. Bulk purchases can also become false economies when shoppers buy more than they need, waste food, or buy products simply because larger packages seem cheaper.
A Bigger Battle for Membership Loyalty
Walmart wants its membership to become part of everyday life, not just another annual bill.
The combined offer connects grocery delivery, bulk shopping, fuel savings, rewards, and streaming under one price. That may appeal to customers who want fewer separate subscriptions and more value from the services they already use.
Still, Amazon has established shopping habits and its own entertainment offerings, while warehouse shoppers may prefer Costco or another retailer depending on location and product selection. A cheaper bundle alone will not persuade everyone.
The real test will be whether customers renew after a year and whether the combined benefits genuinely make their routines easier and their budgets more manageable.
Would you pay $120 a year for Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus together, or would you rather stick with Amazon Prime or a single membership?
