Add the olive oil and sliced onions to a medium sized frying pan. Add the ½ teaspoon of salt. Slowly sauté the onions over medium to low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.

Then add a teaspoon of sugar to the onions and continue to cook on low for another 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Turn off the heat and set aside to come to room temperature.

Add yogurt, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to a large mixing bowl. Whisk until combined.

Step 4

Add your room temperature caramelized onions to the creamy yogurt mixture. Mix well to combine. Then place in the fridge until ready to serve. Enjoy!

Hint:  Be sure to store the onion dip in the fridge until you are ready to serve! This will keep the dip fresh and also allow the dip to continue to develop more flavor!
